BearTech started at a family coffee table in Stockton-on-Tees, founded in 2023 by people who had already spent years putting computer vision into warehouses, satellites and production lines, and who wanted to bring that calibre of work to clients of every size, from lean startups to large, established organisations.
We execute every project with a dedicated, in-house engineering team, with no outsourcing and no handoffs. Clients choose us for the speed, direct communication and end-to-end accountability that come with total internal delivery.
What we are, underneath the job titles, is problem solvers. Software development, data engineering, data science and AI are the disciplines we happen to be good at, and they are useful precisely because most real problems need more than one of them. A reporting problem is usually a data engineering problem wearing a spreadsheet. An AI problem is usually a data problem that nobody has done the boring part of yet.
So we start every project by asking why. Not to be difficult, but because the answer is normally different from the brief, and building the briefed thing when the why points elsewhere is the most expensive mistake in software.
We care about getting more people into STEM, and about the fact that a business in the Tees Valley can build things that stand up anywhere. Our aim is simple: build software, data and AI that earns its place. Production systems that solve the real problem, owned end to end by the people who built them.
A full in-house team with no subcontractors, building since 2017 and spanning the disciplines most real problems need.
How we work matters as much as what we build.
